NIKKE Vol.1 vs Vol.2: Why the 12-Pack Box Wins

NIKKE Vol.1 vs Vol.2: Why the 12-Pack Box Wins - Bad Moon Rising Collectibles

Weiss Schwarz GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE Vol.2 releases in English on September 25, 2026, and it changes the box. Vol.2 ships with 10 packs per display, down from the 12 packs in the original Vol.1 box, at the same 8 cards per pack. Before the new set lands, here is a straight comparison of the two: what is in each box, how the chase cards line up, what the new autograph rare is, and why the original 12-pack Vol.1 box is the better value while it is still on shelves. We hold Vol.1 in depth, so this one is a sales pitch, and we will tell you exactly where the argument is strongest and where it is not.

Sixteen more cards per box

The plainest difference is volume. A Vol.1 box is 96 cards; a Vol.2 box is 80. That is two fewer shots at the SP, SSP and SEC slots per box, and in a game where the signed cards are the entire reason most people open sealed, two packs is not a rounding error. Vol.2's 10-pack display follows Bushiroad's newer English box specification, which makes Vol.1 the only NIKKE product in the 12-pack configuration. That is not a scarcity claim about the cards; it is a simple statement that the bigger box is the older one.

Forty signatures versus thirty-one

Vol.1's SP tier runs 40 cards, every one carrying a hot-stamped voice-actor autograph. Vol.2 lists 31 SP cards. Vol.2 counters with a headline pull that Vol.1 does not have: an AGR, or Autograph Rare, of Aoi Yuki, the voice of Cinderella, limited to the 1st Edition print. That single card will be Vol.2's chase and it is genuinely new. But if what you want is the broadest spread of signed Nikkes, the original set still has the deeper roster: Rapi, Anis, Neon, Privaty, Snow White, Scarlet, Rapunzel, Red Hood and Modernia all have signed SP cards in Vol.1, and those are the characters the franchise was built on.

What Vol.2 does better

Fairness matters, so here is the other side. Vol.2 has 14 newly drawn illustrations exclusive to the set, a guaranteed PR card in every display, and the Cinderella AGR, which is the kind of one-of-one-tier card that drives a set's secondary market. It also captures the characters who arrived after Vol.1 was printed. If Cinderella is your Nikke, Vol.2 is the box for you, and nothing in Vol.1 substitutes for it. The two sets share the NIK card code and are fully compatible under Neo-Standard rules, so a Vol.1 player loses nothing by adding Vol.2 later.

Why 2026 made Vol.1 more interesting, not less

Vol.1 was printed in spring 2025, before NIKKE's biggest year. Since then the franchise launched its first anime, Outpost: Off-Duty Tales, ran a summer event headlined by a new Cinderella unit, and on August 13 opened its Persona collaboration with Aigis from Persona 3 Reload, Yukiko from Persona 4 Golden and Makoto from Persona 5 Royal. All of that pushes new fans toward the characters on Vol.1's SP cards, while the supply of 12-pack 1st Edition boxes is whatever was printed. We covered the full year in our NIKKE momentum piece, and it is the reason we bought deep.

The honest value math

  • Vol.1 at $89.99 for 12 packs is $7.50 a pack, and every box carries the 1st Edition box topper.
  • Vol.2's US pricing is not published yet. At Bushiroad's usual $4.50 MSRP per pack a 10-pack box lists around $45, and retail on new Weiss sets routinely opens well above that. Whatever it lands at, you are buying 80 cards instead of 96.
  • Per signed-card odds, Vol.1's 40 SP across 96 cards per box compares favorably to Vol.2's 31 SP across 80.

We are not going to invent a price for a set that has not released. The argument is about the box, not the market: more packs, more signatures, the last 12-pack printing, and characters whose profile has only risen since printing.

Frequently asked questions

When does Weiss Schwarz NIKKE Vol.2 release in English?

September 25, 2026. Boxes contain 10 packs of 8 cards, and the 1st Edition print includes the Aoi Yuki Autograph Rare.

How many packs are in a NIKKE Vol.1 box versus a Vol.2 box?

Vol.1 boxes have 12 packs, or 96 cards. Vol.2 boxes have 10 packs, or 80 cards. Both use 8-card packs.

Can NIKKE Vol.1 and Vol.2 cards be played together?

Yes. Both sets carry the NIK card code and are legal together in the Neo-Standard format, so adding Vol.2 to a Vol.1 deck is the intended path.

Which NIKKE set has more signed cards?

Vol.1 has 40 SP signature cards. Vol.2 has 31 SP cards plus one Autograph Rare of Aoi Yuki, the voice of Cinderella, and signatures from 40 voice actors across its signed tiers.

Vol.2 specifications are from Bushiroad's English product page as of September 2026; Vol.2 pricing will be added when published.
