TCG Release Calendar: Q3–Q4 2026

The second half of 2026 is stacked. Between now and New Year's, Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, One Piece, and Weiss Schwarz are all shipping headline sets — and three of the biggest are franchise firsts: the first-ever worldwide simultaneous Pokémon launch, the first global simultaneous One Piece release, and Magic's long-awaited return to Middle-earth. This is your month-by-month map of what drops when, and why each date is worth watching.
Most of these sets we don't stock yet, so treat this as a planning guide rather than a shopping list. Where retailer dates disagree, we've said so, and everything below reflects publisher-announced dates as of early July 2026. If you collect across more than one game, print this out — the fall calendar gets crowded fast.
The biggest dates to circle:
- September 16 — Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration. The first Pokémon set ever to launch worldwide on the same day, printed entirely in foil, with a brand-new Futuristic Rare rarity and 30 artist-drawn Pikachu cards.
- Late August — One Piece OP-17: The World's Strongest Warriors. The 4th Anniversary set, and the first One Piece release to go live globally in English and Japanese at the same time.
- August 14 — Magic: The Gathering | The Hobbit. A full Middle-earth Universes Beyond set, with prerelease events the week before.
- October 2 — MTG: Reality Fracture. Serialized throwback Power Nine reprints and five beginner-friendly Commander decks.
- November 6 — Pokémon: Delta Reign. Mega Rayquaza ex headlines, arriving the same day as the 30th Celebration Ultra-Premium Collections.
July 2026
July sends summer off with a bang. The month's marquee release is Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution — Pitch Black (ME05) on July 17, the fifth main set of the Mega Evolution series. Built around the Mega Dimension content from Pokémon Legends: Z-A, it puts Mega Darkrai ex and Mega Zeraora ex front and center, with Mega Chandelure ex and Mega Excadrill ex along for the ride. If you're catching up on the current Mega era, our Pokémon lineup is a good place to start.
On the same day, Weiss Schwarz drops its BanG Dream! 10th Anniversary Premium Booster — a celebratory set for one of Bushiroad's flagship franchises. Two weeks later, July 31 is a double release: One Piece rolls out its six new ST-31 through ST-36 starter decks in English (one per color, from Luffy and Zoro to Kuzan, Katakuri, Sabo, and Kid), and Weiss Schwarz launches Blue Archive: The Animation. Worth noting for crossover collectors: Disney Lorcana's Attack of the Vine! also lands July 17, making it a genuinely busy Friday at the game store.
| Date | Set | Brand | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jul 17 | Mega Evolution: Pitch Black (ME05) | Pokémon | 5th Mega set; Mega Darkrai ex & Mega Zeraora ex |
| Jul 17 | BanG Dream! 10th Anniversary Premium | Weiss Schwarz | Premium anniversary booster |
| Jul 31 | ST-31 to ST-36 Starter Decks | One Piece | Six one-per-color beginner decks (EN) |
| Jul 31 | Blue Archive: The Animation | Weiss Schwarz | New anime tie-in booster |
August 2026
August is the heaviest month on the calendar. Magic: The Gathering | The Hobbit holds prerelease events August 7–13 before its official street date of August 14, giving players an early crack at a full Middle-earth set the week before boxes hit shelves. If you're building around it, our Magic singles and sealed shelf is the spot to top off.
Then One Piece makes history. OP-17: The World's Strongest Warriors, the 4th Anniversary booster, is Bandai's first-ever global simultaneous release — English and Japanese going live at the same time with no import gap — and it debuts a new Treasure Rare rarity. Bandai's English account has stated August 26, though some retailers list dates from the 22nd to the 28th, so pencil it in for late August and confirm closer to launch.
The month closes with a triple play on August 28: Pokémon's Mega Forces Tins (Mega Dragonite ex, Mega Darkrai ex, and Mega Zeraora ex), Weiss Schwarz's Re:ZERO Vol.3, and the start of the 2026 Pokémon World Championships in San Francisco, running August 28–30 across the Moscone Center and Chase Center. It's not a product drop, but it's the hobby's biggest weekend of the year. One more thing for Magic fans: Star Trek previews kick off at STLV: Trek to Vegas, August 5–9.
| Date | Set | Brand | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aug 7–13 | The Hobbit — Prerelease | MTG | Early events ahead of street date |
| Aug 14 | The Hobbit | MTG | Full Middle-earth Universes Beyond set |
| Late Aug | OP-17: The World's Strongest Warriors | One Piece | 4th Anniversary; first global simultaneous release; new Treasure Rare |
| Aug 28 | Mega Forces Tins | Pokémon | Mega Dragonite / Darkrai / Zeraora ex tins |
| Aug 28 | Re:ZERO Vol.3 | Weiss Schwarz | Third Re:ZERO booster |
| Aug 28–30 | World Championships (San Francisco) | Pokémon | Season finale; the hobby's biggest weekend |
September 2026
September belongs to Pokémon. 30th Celebration arrives September 16 as the first Pokémon TCG set to launch worldwide on a single day. Every card in the set is foil — right down to Basic Energy — and it introduces the new Futuristic Rare rarity, debuting with Mewtwo and Mew illustrated by Japanese artist YOSHIROTTEN. Like Celebrations in 2021, it packs in 30 classic reprints stamped with a 30 Pikachu mark, and every booster includes one of 30 Pikachu cards, each by a different artist. It's the set everyone will be chasing this fall.
Around it, the month fills in nicely. Magic's The Hobbit Gift Bundle lands September 4 as a gift-ready edition, and Reality Fracture holds its prerelease September 25 ahead of an October street date. One Piece adds the SD-01: Set Sail Deck on September 18, a fresh on-ramp for the new global era. Weiss Schwarz's NIKKE Vol.2 arrives September 25 with a notable change: starting with this set, English booster boxes shrink from 12 packs to 10, and cartons drop from 24 boxes to 12, so plan your case orders accordingly.
| Date | Set | Brand | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sep 4 | The Hobbit Gift Bundle | MTG | Gift-style holiday edition |
| Sep 16 | 30th Celebration | Pokémon | First worldwide simultaneous set; all-foil; Futuristic Rare; 30 Pikachu artist cards |

| Sep 25 | NIKKE Vol.2 | Weiss Schwarz | Boxes shrink to 10 packs (from 12) |
October 2026
October opens with Magic's Reality Fracture on October 2, the set that closes out the Metronome storyline. Its headline chase is a run of serialized throwback full-art reprints — a Power Nine-style Retrain treatment, including 500 numbered copies illustrated by original Power Nine artist Mark Poole — alongside five beginner-friendly Foundations Commander decks aimed squarely at new players. The set also brings Echo pairs and a shattered-mirror borderless treatment for collectors.
Pokémon keeps the 30th party going with Day & Night Mini Tins, also October 2: ten collectible tins whose art pieces together into two larger day-and-night images. Weiss Schwarz ships Rascal Does Not Dream Vol.4 on October 23, and One Piece wraps the month October 30 with EB-05: Heroines Edition vol.2, an Extra Booster spotlighting the series' women.

| Oct 2 | 30th Celebration Day & Night Mini Tins | Pokémon | Ten tins whose art forms day/night scenes |

November 2026
November 6 is a banner Pokémon day. Delta Reign brings Mega Rayquaza ex back into the game as the sixth Mega Evolution set, introducing connected Stadium cards — a new mechanic for the era. The same day, the 30th Celebration Ultra-Premium Collections arrive in two flavors: a Day set built around Espeon ex and a Night set around Umbreon ex, each loaded with 30 packs, promos, and premium accessories. Between the two, it's the fall's best day for Pokémon collectors.
Magic caps the month with Star Trek, its Universes Beyond crossover timed to the franchise's 60th anniversary. Sources currently list two candidate dates — November 13 and November 20 — so treat it as mid-November and confirm as Wizards locks it in. After the STLV previews in August, this one has been a long time coming for Trek fans.

| Date | Set | Brand | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nov 6 | Delta Reign | Pokémon | Mega Rayquaza ex; new connected Stadium mechanic |
| Nov 6 | 30th Celebration Ultra-Premium Collections | Pokémon | Day (Espeon ex) & Night (Umbreon ex) UPCs |
| Mid-Nov | Star Trek | MTG | Universes Beyond; franchise's 60th anniversary |
December 2026
December is quieter on the new-release front — and after November, that's a mercy for both wallets and shelves. Publishers have not confirmed major new sealed sets for the month, so the holiday season is mostly about restocks of the fall's biggest hits (expect 30th Celebration, Delta Reign, Reality Fracture, and Star Trek to be the gifts everyone is hunting) and the first roadmap teases for early 2027. If any surprise December drops get announced, we'll update this calendar. For now, it's the window to fill gaps before the new year rather than chase a fresh set.
