MTG Marvel Super Heroes: Spoiler Roundup

The countdown is on for Magic: The Gathering — Marvel Super Heroes, releasing worldwide on June 26, 2026. Spoilers have been dropping since the MagicCon Vegas reveal, and the lineup of confirmed cards is shaping up to be one of the most exciting Universes Beyond crossovers yet. Here's everything we know so far.
The Mind Stone — The Card That Started It All
The first card revealed was The Mind Stone, presented onstage by MCU star Paul Bettany (Vision himself). A 2-mana ({1}{W}) Indestructible Legendary Artifact that taps for white mana and, once Harnessed for {5}{W}, lets you flicker your own nonland permanents at every end step.
The Mind Stone is the first of the Infinity Stones cycle — expect to see Soul, Power, Time, Space, and Reality Stones revealed throughout the spoiler season. Each will use the new "Harness" mechanic, requiring a one-time mana investment to unlock the stone's infinity ability.
The Vision — Robot Hero
Fitting that The Vision was revealed alongside Mind Stone — in the MCU, the Mind Stone is what gives Vision sentience. The card is a 4-mana Legendary Artifact Creature - Robot Hero that interacts with the Infinity Stones in unique ways.
Vision's design hints at the Marvel set's mechanical theme: artifacts (the Infinity Stones), Hero/Villain creature subtypes, and saga enchantments depicting key Marvel storylines.
Bruce Banner // The Incredible Hulk
The double-sided Bruce Banner // The Incredible Hulk is one of the most flavorful cards in the set. Banner starts as a fragile Human Scientist Hero. Trigger his transformation (likely via taking damage), and he flips into The Incredible Hulk — a massive Gamma Berserker with damage-based payoffs.
Community theorists have already identified infinite combo potential when paired with cards that recur transformations. Expect this to immediately enter Commander brews.
World War Hulk — Saga Enchantment
The {3}{G}{G} World War Hulk Saga depicts Hulk's rampage on Earth in three chapters. Each chapter delivers escalating power — culminating in a board-warping final chapter that punishes opponents for having creatures.
Sagas are perfect for Marvel storylines, and Wizards is leaning into the format. Expect Civil War, Secret Wars, and Infinity War Sagas as more cards drop.
Captain America, Super-Soldier
Captain America arrives at {1}{W}{W} as a Human Soldier Hero. Equipment-centric design rewards getting his iconic shield onto the field, with abilities that trigger when you Equip or attack with Equipped creatures.
Cap will likely headline the "Heroes" Commander precon as the leader of the Avengers-themed deck.
Doctor Doom
The 6-mana ({4}{B}{B}) Doctor Doom is Marvel's most fearsome villain in card form — a Human Scientist Villain who steals abilities and resources from opponents. Doom's design rewards political play and resource denial.
Expected to lead the "Villains" Commander precon as Marvel's premier antagonist.
Namor the Sub-Mariner
The ruler of Atlantis arrives at {1}{U}{U} as a Mutant Merfolk Villain. Blue Merfolk decks gain a powerful new commander, with Namor's abilities synergizing with both Marvel's mutant theme and traditional MTG Merfolk tribal.
Namor blurs the Hero/Villain line in classic Marvel fashion — sometimes king of Atlantis, sometimes antagonist of the surface world.
The Coming of Galactus
The 5-mana {2}{B}{B}{G} Saga The Coming of Galactus depicts the world-eater's arrival in three chapters. Each chapter escalates the threat until Galactus arrives and the world he targets is devoured.
Sagas like this are perfect for "alt-win" Commander strategies — slow setup, devastating payoff.
Four Marvel Commander Decks
Marvel Super Heroes will launch with four Commander precons alongside the main set on June 26:
- Heroes — Likely led by Captain America. White-based deck focused on Equipment and Hero tribal.
- Villains — Led by Doctor Doom. Black-based political/resource denial.
- X-Men — Led by an as-yet-unannounced Charles Xavier or Storm. Mutant tribal.
- Avengers — Led by a marquee character (rumored Iron Man or Thor). Multicolor synergies.
Each deck will be a complete 100-card precon with new-to-Magic Marvel characters and reprints of Commander staples themed around the Marvel universe.
Set Mechanics & Themes
- Harness mechanic — Unlock Infinity Stone infinity abilities by paying a one-time mana cost
- Hero / Villain creature subtypes — New creature classifications for Marvel characters
- Sagas — Storyline enchantments depicting key Marvel events (Civil War, Secret Wars, World War Hulk, Galactus arrival)
- Cosmic foil treatment — A new metallic foil exclusive to Collector Boosters that evokes the cosmic Marvel multiverse
Why This Set Will Be Massive
Three reasons Marvel Super Heroes will likely outsell other Universes Beyond releases:
- Mainstream Marvel demand — Marvel has billions of fans worldwide. Many will buy MTG product for the first time just to own Captain America or Spider-Man cards.
- Infinity Stones as a cycle — All 6 Stones will be in demand as Commander staples for years to come.
- Collector treatments — Cosmic foils + serialized cards will drive Collector Booster Box demand similar to Final Fantasy and LOTR.
Predicted sealed appreciation: 30-60% within 6 months of release, based on Final Fantasy and LOTR launch trajectories.
Pre-Order Strategy
Pre-orders open this month (May/June 2026). Strategy:
- Lock in MSRP early — Marvel demand will spike at launch
- Collector Booster Box is the premium chase product for Cosmic foils and serialized cards
- Play Booster Box for the Infinity Stones cycle and general Commander upgrades
- All 4 Commander Decks — Each represents a different Marvel faction. The complete set will have the highest collector value long-term
